MARIA LORAM
PASADENA
Maria Loram is a ceramic artist whose functional works reflect a deep connection to the Earth. Using clay, textured glazes, and natural materials like wild clay and rocks, she creates organic forms that evoke rugged landscapes and the quiet power of nature. Her muted tones and raw textures embrace the wabi-sabi aesthetic, celebrating simplicity, imperfection, and the beauty of the natural world.
Influenced by her background in STEM, as well as her practices in meditation and yoga, Maria’s work is shaped by Eastern philosophies and the concept of non-duality. Her spherical vessels, formed on the potter’s wheel, blur the line between life and death, self and cosmos—offering peaceful, contemplative reflections on impermanence, balance, and the mysteries of time and space.
