CADE CAHALAN

LOS ANGELES

Margot is a contemporary artist raised in California, educated in Michigan, and now based in New York City. Her practice is rooted in material exploration and the quiet tension between contrast and cohesion. Working primarily in oil, graphite, acrylic, and thread, she constructs layered compositions that merge drawing, painting, and textile techniques into a singular visual language.
Marked by a neutral palette and rich texture, Margot’s work explores themes of connection and transformation. The use of thread, stitched or suspended, adds both structure and metaphor, suggesting ideas of repair, continuity, and care.
With each piece, Margot seeks to capture a balance between fragility and strength, structure and spontaneity, revealing the poetic beauty in unlikely combinations.
