CADE CAHALAN

LOS ANGELES

Cade Cahalan is a Los Angeles-based furniture designer and craftsman whose work explores the intersection of wood and clay. With a background in both woodworking and ceramics, he creates sculptural furniture that blurs the line between function and form. His debut collection, Xylolith—from the Greek xylo (wood) and lithos (stone)—reimagines ceramic tiling and traditional joinery, bringing these contrasting materials into a thoughtful dialogue.
Influenced by the tactile nature of craft and a curiosity for material tension, Cade’s pieces reflect a quiet balance between structure and softness. By combining time-honored techniques with experimental approaches, he creates objects that feel both grounded and unexpected, designed to be lived with, studied, and touched.
